The Praise Bus is to visit Hadleigh and it will drive right past the Temple. The bus is using the route of the torch relay and it will precede the torch (by anything up to two hours).
Christian musicians will be taking part on board and the bus is set to witness to all who have gathered to watch the Olympic torch relay.
The venture is the inspiration of the members of a small chapel near Land’s End, Cornwall. For more details visit www.thejourneyfromescalls.co.uk
There is a Flash Mob planned to welcome the bus.More Than Gold coordinator for Castle Point, Avril Betts-Brown, says:
‘Meet at the crossing by St James the Less at 12.20pm on the 6th July, or outside any of the churches on the Torch route along the London Road. St James the Less, St Thomas Moore, Salvation Army or Hadleigh Methodist, to declare, cheer, sing, pray & welcome the Praise Bus to Castle Point.’
For the relay itself, she urges Christians to serve the Castle Point community, suggesting: giving out water, doing face painting, playing an instrument and singing or giving out sweets and cakes. She also suggests providing chairs for people to rest, having a baby-changing gazebo, engaging with people. ‘The opportunities are endless’, she says.
