The Salvation Army has used the tambourine for many years. Of more recent times it is referred to as the timbrel and its use has been developed into something of an art form. Timbrel displays are now a regular feature of many Salvation Army programmes and we are very proud of the timbrel groups we have at Hadleigh Temple. The senior group regularly takes part in the Lord Mayor’s Show in London.
