A visit from the director of Salvation Army International Development (THQ) launched the corps’ project to support The Salvation Army in Tanzania.
Major Heather Poxon, together with her husband Stephen led spirit-filled worship at the Temple when she came to introduce the corps to an aspect of Salvation Army work in that country. She focused on trafficking in Dar es Salaam and spoke about some of the girls that had been rescued and are being cared for and developed in two Salvation Army centres in the city.
The corps’ first project will be a craft market in November, preceded by a number of craft evenings organised by Joy and Sue Whitehouse.
A Tanzania section has been created on the corps website for this project.
