Camera Club Competition 9th August 2011

This competition evening was based on a very pleasant day out by the Club to Lavenham and Dedham on 18th June which had been organised by Malcolm Wilson.  It had been a great day, the weather had been very kind to us with the rain only falling when we had been under cover either in the coach or the Coggeshall Garden Centre Restaurant on the way home.

The decision to hold this competition was only made on the way home in the coach when everybody had taken their photographs so we have all started from the same point.

This competition was open to everybody who had been on the day out whether a regular member of the Camera Club or a visitor.

60 photographs were submitted and everybody present at the meeting was given a judging sheet to complete.

While the marks were being analysed, refreshments were served after which talks were given by:

 (i) Brian Nichols about his recent ‘Hairy Goat’ photographic walking tour in London.

(ii) Robin Bryant regarding the printing of his photographs.

(iii) Harry Tabeart, a friendly Photographic Association of Great Britain judge who was a guest for the evening, spoke about some of the pictures that had been submitted.

Certificates were presented by Major David Woodman to:

1st – John Ready

         “West End Lavenham Market Square”

2nd – Brian Nichols

                             ” Constable’s Dedham”
