Barking Success

The Camera Club has again notched up another success story.  Barking Salvation Army Corps run an annual photographic competition which we are invited, as individuals, to enter.  The aim is to not only introduce people to the world of the Salvation Army but to raise funds for their ongoing work.

The 2012 competition was held on Saturday 22nd September and attracted a massive 244 entries.  There were six categories in the competition; (i) Landscape, Seascape and Streetscene, (ii) Flowers, Plants and Trees, (iii) People and Fashion, (iv) Movement, Transport and Sport, (v) Snaps and Phone photographs, (vi) Peoples Choice.        37 prizes were awarded over the categories and Hadleigh Camera Club members won 12 of these prizes

Our members were awarded 3 x 1st prizes, 2 x 2nd prizes, 6 x commended awards and 1 x Peoples Choice.

Our Acting Treasurer, Doug Taylor, who was a soldier at Barking Corps before transfering to Hadleigh Temple Corps was the go-between safely delivering and collecting our images.

We look forward to next year’s competition
